Our Story
A family legacy rooted in the traditions of the Douro Valley

A Legacy of Flavor and Hospitality
Here, at our Tendinha, we believe the heart of the Douro lies in its traditions. What began as a beloved local Pastelaria on the ground floor has grown into a guest house where modern comfort meets heritage.
Located just steps from the historic Peso da Régua train station, we invite you to wake up to the aroma of our famous freshly baked bôlas and artisanal pastries. Whether you're here to explore the world-class vineyards or simply to watch the river flow from your window, our family-run house is your sanctuary in the valley.
From Pastelaria to Guest House
For generations, the ground floor of our building has been home to one of Peso da Régua's most cherished pastry shops. The sweet aroma of freshly baked goods has drawn locals and visitors alike through our doors.
Inspired by the warmth and community our Pastelaria has always fostered, we opened the floors above as a guest house—extending that same spirit of hospitality to travelers from around the world. Every morning, our guests come down to a breakfast made with the same recipes and care that have defined A Tendinha for decades.
